Base Layers

The base layer should fit snugly against the body to absorb and transport moisture as effectively as possible. At the same time, it should feel comfortable and not negatively affect your freedom of movement. The base layer tops are slightly longer so they don't ride up in the back when you bend down, which could allow cold air to get in and cool you down.

The fabric structure of our women's Hiball Waffle set provides exceptional insulation and handles temperatures down to approximately -20°C. Base layers containing wool also have very good insulating properties and keep you warm down to temperatures around -10°C.

Base layers made from synthetic materials dry quickly, are stretchy for a more comfortable fit and very durable. Synthetic materials are great for high-intensity activities thanks to their moisture-wicking properties.

Wool base layers are suitable for both warm and cold conditions thanks to their temperature-regulating properties. Therefore, they also work well for activities like downhill skiing, where the intensity varies between high exertion on the slope and low exertion on the lift.

Bamboo base layers have excellent moisture-wicking properties and are soft and smooth against the skin. They are well suited for milder seasons as they do not have the same insulating properties as wool, for example.
