Accessibility at Revolution Race

This statement applies to Revolution Race, which is designed to comply with level A and AA criteria of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 – the international standard for accessibility of websites and applications.

Compliance

Although we strive to provide an accessible experience and actively work on improving our website, some issues remain to be addressed in order to reach full WCAG 2.2 compliance.

How we work with accessibility

We strive to solve all known accessibility issues as soon as possible. And will update this report as improvements are implemented.

We’ve partnered with an accessibility consultancy who conducted a review of the Revolution Race website and improvements have been made in accordance with their findings.

Known remaining barriers

Users who navigate primarily by keyboard may experience:
  • Interactive elements that can’t be reached or triggered via keyboard.

  • Keyboard focus getting obscured behind open dialog elements.

Users who rely on assistive technology such as screen readers may experience:
  • Images with insufficient or missing text alternatives.

  • Page updates that aren’t announced properly, for example when adding a product to the shopping cart.

  • Interactive elements that don’t get described correctly due to a lack of proper labels or accessible names.

  • Links whose destination isn’t clearly conveyed when announced

  • Text getting parsed as headings while not serving the purpose of headings in terms of page structure.

  • Heading levels that don’t make structural sense, making it difficult to navigate around the page.

  • Changes in language that aren’t indicated programmatically, leading to screen readers mispronouncing things.

Other barriers:
  • Some users may struggle to make out text or other elements on the page due to insufficient color contrast levels against the background.

  • Users may encounter input fields with no indication of whether they’re optional or required, such as in the “Contact us” form.

  • Users may encounter images with embedded text, keeping them from adjusting text size or parsing the text using assistive technologies.

  • The site has no dark color theme, and users who have indicated a preference for dark color themes in their device settings will get the light color theme.

  • Some elements on the site aren’t built in line with established HTML standards, which may cause a variety of issues for users and assistive technologies.
